Hydroplane racing returns to Sacramento Thursday when the Air Guard H1 Unlimited Series stages an exhibition on Folsom Lake. Four teams will take part in the event including J.W. Myers and the Peters & May Hydroplane. The exhibition will promote a possible race next year in the California capital. It only took two races for J.W. Myers to claim his first heat victory for the Unlimited Racing Group; winning Heat 1C at the APBA Gold Cup Saturday. The U-11 Peters & May hydroplane made its inaugural run yesterday in Madison, Indiana. JW Myers took the hull out in the last few minutes of the qualifying session on the 1 2/3 mile Ohio River race course Friday afternoon. He turned two laps at 130.934 & 132.617 before bringing the boat back to the dock. After months of long hours at the Edmonds, WA shop the entire crew was overjoyed to see the boat make its first run.
