APBA Board of Directors & Council At Large – Call for Nominations
Attention All Active APBA members:
The nomination process for the APBA Board of Directors & Council is now open. If you are interested in serving on the Board, we encourage you to reach out to any member of the Nominating Committee, which includes the current Board of Directors, Category Chairs, and Region Chairs.
What is Asked of an APBA Board Member & Council At Large?
Serving on the APBA Board of Directors is both an honor and a responsibility. Board members are expected to:
- Lead with Purpose: Act in the best interest of the APBA membership and the future of the sport.
- Attend Meetings: Participate in regular board meetings, both virtually and in person (typically at the National Meeting and additional monthly scheduled calls).
- Be Informed and Engaged: Stay informed about APBA operations, financial matters, safety policies, and competitive structure. Board members should be familiar with the organization’s by-laws, strategic goals, and current issues facing the sport.
- Make Decisions: Help shape APBA policy and vote on key matters such as rules, budgets, insurance, sanctioning, and long-term planning.
- Support Committees and Initiatives: Board members are often asked to serve on subcommittees or task forces and may be assigned to work on strategic initiatives to promote and grow the sport.
- Represent Your Stakeholders: Serve as a voice for what's best for all of APBA's members, not just those in your category or region.
- Uphold Ethics and Integrity: Maintain high standards of conduct, integrity, and avoid conflicts of interest.
This is an exciting time for APBA, with momentum building in membership, competition, and outreach. If you believe you can contribute to the growth and success of powerboat racing at the national level, we encourage you to step forward.
To express interest or nominate a candidate, contact any member of the Nominating Committee. The deadline for nominations is August 1st.
Let’s shape the future of powerboat racing—together.
