Excitement in Constantine leads up to Grass Lake

Constantine, Mich.  – A packed Racer School, 90 degree heat, brand spankin’ new digital clock and 100 entries all made for a great time, had by all who attended the 2012 Great Lakes Challenge in Constantine, Mich., over Father’s Day weekend.  A few North American Championships (250MH, 750MH), the Race 4 Kaos and seven classes with more than eight entries made for one of the best turnouts in the country thus far.

The newly-painted and refinished boat will carry the South Seattle Community College name and logo on its side, as it competes throughout the U.S. and in Qatar during the 2012 racing season.

Shawn Gust / Hagadone News Network Doug Miller, event chairman for the upcoming Coeur d'Alene Diamond Cup Regatta this Labor Day weekend, inspects a detail on the 1968 Miss Budweiser hydroplane on July 1, 2010 after the boat was housed at the resort's boat shop. Miller's efforts have helped bring racing back to Lake Coeur d'Alene.
