Wildwoods Hydrofest Joins the EPIC Series in 2014

 The Wildwoods 2014 Hydrofest Powerboat Races, taking place Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14, will add a new attraction to this already heart-pounding action-packed event. EPIC – the Eastern Pro Inboard Championship Series – is a new progressive points series in addition to the traditional multi-class American Power Boat Association (APBA).

The EPIC series adds even more excitement to the Wildwoods Hydrofest racing program, as the best of the best will be competing to win the EPIC Series inaugural crown for their respective racing class.

Even before the trophies were handed out, and the money at the vending booths had been tallied, many folks at Pyne Road Park considered the first ever LaGrange Power Boat Grand Prix a success.

“It’s beautiful and awesome,” said powerboat racer, Danny Walls. “The people have been great. The crowd’s been one of the best we’ve had in a long time.”

Ryan Berlin Named APBA Director of Operations

Dan Wiener resigned as APBA’s Executive Director on April 28.  Dan’s resignation provided APBA with the opportunity to examine and reallocate the functions within APBA headquarters.  As a result of this careful analysis, Ryan Berlin has been named Director of Operations for the American Power Boat Association; the Executive Director position will not be filled.
