After a long winter that never seemed to have an end to it, racing is finally underway in the Northwest.  Big plans are underway for our Jet River racers, as Kyla Sawyer reports:

Ryan Berlin Named APBA Director of Operations

Dan Wiener resigned as APBA’s Executive Director on April 28.  Dan’s resignation provided APBA with the opportunity to examine and reallocate the functions within APBA headquarters.  As a result of this careful analysis, Ryan Berlin has been named Director of Operations for the American Power Boat Association; the Executive Director position will not be filled.

Earlier today Dan Wiener resigned as APBA’s Executive Director.   Dan will be greatly missed and we wish him well in his future endeavors.   During the search for an Interim Executive Director, APBA President Mark Wheeler and APBA Vice President Dutch Squires will jointly assume the duties of Executive Director.   Those wishing to be considered for the position of Interim Executive Director should contact President Wheeler at president@apba.org.

APBA Remembers Stan Fitts

Stan Fitts, 74, of Framingham, died, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Metrowest Medical Center, Natick after a short illness. Born in Brookline, he was the son of the late Harvey A. and Frances (Ockerman) Fitts.

Stan served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of University of New Hampshire and was the retired President of Clark-Wilcox Co. in Boston and the President of CW Equipment Co. in Framingham. He was a member of the Plymouth Church as well as the Lake Sunapee Yacht Club in Sunapee, NH.
