BAY CITY, Mich. – The Bay City River Roar was starting to seem like the Rinker Roar.
Until everybody got a reminder that Seebold is still this event's first name in racing.
With a wire-to-wire victory in the Formula 1 final, Tim Seebold built on his family's unmatched legacy in the 26thannual powerboat race on the Saginaw River.
"Ask any driver in the pits the one race they'd love to win in their career and they'll say this one," said Seebold, while dabbing sweat and champagne from his eyes. "My dad never won this race. He won races all over the world, but he never won this one. And that's saying something."
