BAY CITY -- No American Powerboat Association (APBA) or F1 Prop course is quite like the Saginaw River.
With seawalls on both sides of the banks, the one-mile, 700 feet wide course is one of the more challenging venues on either circuit.
Drivers will be tested Saturday and Sunday when the River Roar returns to Bay City for a weekend full of high-speed action.
"I don't think there's anything more to do than say some prayers before the race," race director Jim Fox said of the course's difficulty, laughing. "They definitely don't race any less hard, it's just a matter of hoping that they make it through."
While the Saginaw River's seawalls make the course unique, it also adds an extra layer of difficulty.
