Building on its position as "Official Logistics Provider" to the Qatar Marine Sports Federation (QMSF), Peters & May—the world's leading international boat transport specialists—will assume a prominent role with the QMSF's F1 Powerboat Team in its efforts to secure a 2012 UIM world title.

The move continues "a long-standing relationship between the two organizations," according to Peters & May CEO David Holley, and allows Peters & May to continue supporting American champion F1 pilot Shaun Torrente, who the company helped introduce to the UIM world stage last year. Based on his racing resume and UIM first year performance, The Qatar team hired Torrente as its #2 F1 driver, joining 2011 World Champion Alex Carella of Italy and Qatari Khalid Saleh Al-Shamlan.

"I am pleased and confident in the Qatar Team's lineup," says Eng. Khalid Bin Arhama Al-Kuwari, head of formula racing at QMSF, which runs under the presidency of His Excellency Sheikh Hassan Bin Jabor Al-Thani. "With us are an Italian World Champion, an American that has full potential to gain a world title, and, of course, our brother from Qatar who has the passion to bring pride to our beloved country."

Peters & May will be represented on all three of the teams' F1 boats as well as an F4 boat. "For a global company such as ours, the opportunity to associate with a truly global race team is inspiring. We have high hopes for the 2012 season," Holley says; Al-Kuwari adding "The competition between the racers this season will be intense. We are grateful for our supporters and sponsors, like Peters & May, who will take part in these events. We share one common goal: to once more sweep the UIM's World Championship."
