Countdown to Havasu Boat Show Begins
posted Mon, 04/02/2012 - 1:52pm in Performance Boats

With less than 30 days left to the Lake Havasu Boat Show, the event's promoters are reaching out to showgoers and exhibitors as the date draws close.

The show will run April 20-22 at Lake Havasu State Park, preceding this year's Desert Storm Poker Run on April 25-28.

"The southwest boating industry needs a really productive boat show, especially as we enter the prime selling months of the 2012 season," they announced in a statement released today. "Let's all do our best to make this an outstanding event and help get us back on the road to prosperity." The release also thanked the 125+ exhibitors for their support.

Promotion for the Lake Havasu Boat Show, which was launched ten months ago, is now reaching a fever pitch, with nearly 600 radio spots ready to break, billboards on major Interstates, over 250,000 email blasts sent, a website that has generated nearly one-million total hits and more than 40,000 unique visitors, 60 days of Internet forum banner advertising, display posters, discount admission coupons plus print ads in publications and regional newspapers.

What Exhibitors Need to Know About the Boat Show

• The Lake Havasu Boat Show is hosting an Exhibitor Meet & Greet social hour sponsored by The Bravo Shop, Performance Boat Candy and Neo Synthetics on Saturday evening, April 21 at the Boat Show/Windsor 4 from approximately 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Free beer and a complimentary self-serve taco bar will be provided. Come join us, relax, and meet your fellow exhibitors. This is a great opportunity for industry networking. Additional information about the "Meet and Greet" will be enclosed in exhibitor packets at the Boat Show.

• Later this week, exhibitors will be receiving via email final move-in instructions and a request for name badges. Because of the increase in total exhibitors from previous years, some bulk space exhibitors will be asked to begin moving in on Wednesday afternoon, April 18. The majority of move-in will take place all day (starting at 7:30 a.m.) on Thursday, April 19. Exhibitors will be informed when to arrive to help expedite the process; forklifts will be available to assist in moving boats and heavy equipment into final position.

• Show Manager is Terry Tjaden, a name familiar to those who have been involved in past SCMA boat shows. Terry has more than 25 years of boat show experience and will be supported by Assistant Show Coordinators, Bob and Debi Miller, also familiar faces from Southern California boat shows.

• The Boat Show Office (located at the far southeast corner of the asphalt Windsor 4 parking lot) will be open at 9 a.m. on Thursday. All exhibitors are asked to check in at the Show Office and pick-up their exhibitor packets and badges. Any unpaid balances must be paid at that time.
