Mercury Marine Unveils The Spitfire Aluminum Propeller

(FOND DU LAC, Wis. (Aug. 8, 2011) – Mercury Propellers is proud to introduce “Spitfire,” Mercury’s first four-blade aluminum performance propeller designed for boaters using 25 hp to 125 hp outboards.

Spitfire provides the best performance in the world of aluminum propellers – in fact, it’s 25 percent faster from 0 to 30 mph than Mercury’s best-selling Black Max propeller, and there’s no penalty in top speed.

The new prop selector – designed much like the Mercury-brand prop selector at mercurymarine.com – allows boaters to select the correct propeller for their boats in five convenient steps.

Livorsi Marine - GPS Speedometer for Water Skiing and Wakeboarding

Livorsi has developed a new speedometer with the skier and wake boarder in mind. The new GPS Ski speedometer ranges from 0 to 50 MPH with an expanded scale from 10 MPH to 40 MPH. The expanded scale indicates every mile per hour; accuracy is achieved using GPS technology to determine the speed. The GPS antenna eliminates the need for pitot tubes or calibration.

Turbine. The experimental Mercury turbine outboard was built in alliance with Marine Turbine Technology (MTT) , LLC of Franklin, LA. The engine featured a Rolls Royce Allison 250 series gas turbine (helicopter) engine mounted to a 2.5 EFI Offshore mid section and a Sport Master or Torque Master gearcase.

Simon Motorsports and Dave Bush Racing Announce Collaboration

An announcement from Dave Bush, owner of DBR, confirms the collaboration of an ECU/EMM engine development partnership with Eric Simon of Simon Motorsports for 2011 and beyond.
