WATER FOWL MITIGATION: Participants will have the obligation to visually scan the perimeter of the race course prior to the start of the race. If any participant should spot any water fowl or other bird species then that participant shall alert a member of the race committee of the presence of the birds. During the event, if a participant spots any water fowl or other bird species in the event area or race course then that participant shall attempt to point at it when passing the nearest patrol boat. The patrol boat shall take steps to evacuate the water fowl from the race course. If any bird is in the path intended to be traveled by the vessels, racing will be stopped until the bird is safely clear from the path of travel.

QUAGGA MUSSELS. Be advised that pursuant to the California Fish and Game Code section 2301, upon entering California, any conveyances, including vehicles, boats and other watercraft, containers and trailers that may carry or contain adult or larval dreissenid [quagga] mussels may be subject to inspection and impoundment or quarantine. TAKING A MINOR TO THE RACE SITE? If the minor is going to be in the Restricted / Hot Pit area and you are not the parent or legal guardian - Off-site signing of a Minor Release Waiver is OK, as long as it is notarized, the form brought to the event is the original, it must have the original colored ink and should not be folded. If this procedure is not followed the Minor will not be let in the Restricted / Hot Pit area. An exhibition may be performed at this event pursuant to all APBA General Safety Rules provided that proper waivers and membership forms have been completed. All prizes are the responsibility of the conducting Club. APBA does not guarantee nor is it responsible for payment of prizes. You are advised that this event may be canceled prior to the race due to circumstances beyond the control of this association. If you plan to travel a long distance, it is recommended that you contact the race sponsor prior to your departure to ensure this event will take place.
