Important notification - Clarification 2017 UIM Circuit Rulebook : Head And Neck Restraint Device

 Dear Ladies, Dear Sirs,

We refer to below communication which was forwarded to the attention of the UIM National Authorities on 25th April 2017.

For clarification, please take note that all immersion certificates issued before the date of 26th April 2017 shall be considered valid for 14 months from test/training date, irrespective of whether the test/training was with or without a helmet combined with a head and neck support/restraint device SFI 38.1 or FIA 8858. Such immersion training certificate will be valid for any competitor driving in restrained or non-restrained classes.

As from 26th April 2017, all immersion training sessions have to be organized in application of the CIRCUIT rule 205.05. This means, any driver wishing to participate in an event of a racing class that requires a head and support/restraint device which satisfies SFI 38.1 or FIA 8858, who is not in possession of a valid immersion test certificate, has to perform such test certifying a successful immersion training wearing an approved NRD.
