1966 HS Inductees

Ron MussonOne of the most successful race drivers in history, he lost his life while contending for his familiar first place.  From 1952-58, competing in 135, 225, 266 and 7-Litre classes, he won seven national class championships and was high point winner nine times.  In 1959 he moved to Unlimited hydros. His victories included Gold Cup wins (1963-65) and new lap, heat and race records.  He also served as a key member of Gold Cup and Unlimited racing commissions.
E.M. PeatrossPeatross was outstanding in powerboat racing, officiating and administration for over 30 years.  A race driver from 1936 to 1950, he later served as Region 4 Chairman for five years, establishing regional organization and efficiency.  He had an enviable reputation as a referee in the best traditions of the sport.  He served as a member of Council, Outboard Vice President, Senior Vice President and APBA President.  He was Honorary Vice President and Honorary Commodore, and received the John W. Mulford Trophy for outstanding contributions to power boat racing.
Charles D. StrangStarting as a race driver, he devoted over 30 years to official service as measurer and referee, coast to coast, in all racing categories.  He served on Council, on technical committees, racing commissions, and the Safety Commission, where he contributed greatly to the creation of better helmets and jackets.  As APBA President he helped bring the Offshore racing group into APBA.  He is an Honorary Life Member and Honorary Life Commodore.
